Burglary in the Hackenviertel district: €10,000 stolen from shoe store
10. April 2026
An unpleasant start to the week awaited the employees of the Tretter shoe store branch on Neuhauser Straße in the Hackenviertel: when they wanted to start their work on Monday morning, they came across the traces of a burglary. Apparently, unknown perpetrators had gained access to the shoe store in Munich’s pedestrian zone over the weekend and selectively made off with loot.
The perpetrators acted professionally and even brought welding equipment with them. According to the police, they used it to open two safes by force. The resulting damage or loot is under 10,000 euros.
The burglars got into the shop through a window that had previously been broken open. The entry is likely to have occurred between Saturday evening around 8 p.m. and Monday morning around 9:50 a.m. The perpetrators then vanished again via the same route.
