The beautiful villa colony is bordered by Englschalkinger Straße and Oberföhringer Straße, which used to be called “Ismaninger Hauptstraße”. Effnerstraße leads directly through the colony.

The following streets are located within the Villa colony Am Priel-Hof: Asgardstraße, Frithjofstraße, Muspelheimstraße, Normannenstraße, Odinstraße, Ortnitstraße, and Rudliebstraße. In the past, there were discussions about naming the villa colony “Normannen-Siedlung”.

The Villa colony Am Priel-Hof was built in 1934. It was named after the restaurant “Priel-Hof”, which stood on what was then Ismaninger Hauptstraße (Oberföhringer Straße 42). Unfortunately, this was demolished in the 1960s.

The name of the restaurant, in turn, was derived from an old farm in Bogenhausen, the Prielhof. This farm was already known around the year 1300.

The villa colony was built according to the designs of the architect Emil Wolf.
